Legacy Austin design firm Dick Clark + Associates — or, rather, DC+A Workbench, its development arm — plans for its second mixed-use development on East Seventh Street, the company announced Monday.
The 50,000-square-foot mixed-use building will be at 2422 East Seventh Street and will be be constructed of mass timber and cross laminated timber from Swinerton company Timberlab. The planned four-story building on the northwest corner of East Seventh and Pedernales streets will have one floor of underground parking.
The commercial building’s ground floor will have leasable space, including 5,800 square feet designed for a restaurant tenant and 1,600 square feet for retail. There will be 6,000- and 7,000-square-foot offices on the 3rd and 4th floors respectively.
Plans for the project also include outdoor patios and deck spaces on each floor, a façade of custom-corrugated metal panels, and window overhangs that protect offices from direct southern and western sunlight.
DC+A is partnering with FORT Structures, Swinerton, Beck-Reit Commercial Real Estate, and others on the project.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in spring 2024, with completion planned for the second half of 2025.
Furniture store Scott + Cooner, currently housed in a redeveloped building designed by DC+A down the street, will expand its showroom in the new space.
