A massive multifamily project is headed to the suburb of Spicewood, about 35 miles west of Austin.

Utah's Wasatch Premier Properties bought 59 acres with in Spicewood planned community Thomas Ranch, where it intends to develop a 600-unit multifamily project.

Areté Collective, the master developer of Thomas Ranch, sold the land on which the development will be built to Wasatch in January.

Designed by Dallas-based Hensley Lamkin Rachel, the development is planned to have 100 townhomes and 500 apartments. Townhomes will have two- and three-bedroom plans ranging in size from 1,400 to 1,700 square feet.

The one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will be 650 to 1,400 square feet. Amenities will include a pool, a fitness center, a clubhouse, and a dog park.
