Developers revealed details about the first residential project planned for Uptown ATX, the $3 billion, 66-acre planned community Philadelphia's Brandywine Realty Trust is building on a former IBM campus in North Austin.
Brandywine and Florida LLC ZRS Management Tuesday offered a first look at Solaris House: a 370,839-square-foot, three-story residential tower with 341 apartments, a 23,000-square-foot amenity terrace, and a 0.3-acre ground-level park. The building will have studios and one- and two-bedroom units, including some dedicated to the city of Austin’s Smart Housing Program. The amenity deck connects Solaris House to One Uptown, a mixed-use tower with eight floors of office space, six-plus parking levels, and 15,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Designed by Dallas' GFF, Solaris House apartments will have top-of-the-line stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite countertops with tile backsplashes, contemporary cabinetry, and a full-size washer/dryer in each unit. Some units will also have under=cabinet lighting, luxury spa/shower combos, walk-in showers, mudrooms, and private yards or balconies.
Solaris House amenities will include a social lounge with a private dining room, TVs, billiards, and a kitchenette; a coworking lounge with a conference center, phone rooms, and a wet bar; a quiet business lounge; and a fitness center. The complex will also have concierge service, a bicycle storage and repair station, a pet spa with washing stations, and package lockers. Solaris House will share a gated parking garage with electric car charging stations with One Uptown.
Outdoor amenities include a resort-style pool deck with grilling stations, dining space, and private cabanas in addition to an outdoor lounge with TVs and a kitchenette. At ground level, residents will have direct access to Solaris Park, a public greenspace that will ultimately connect to 11 acres of parks and public spaces throughout the Uptown ATX development.
Uptown ATX is part of the burgeoning North Burnet-Gateway corridor of North Austin – a 2,300-acre area envisioned for mixed-use densification and expanding, eternal aspirations to be known as "Austin’s Second Downtown." A will create direct rail access to this rapidly growing employment, housing and lifestyle hub.
The Uptown ATX planned community will have a new CapMetro rail station, the result of a 50/50 public-private partnership between Brandywine and CapMetro.
Construction on Solaris House started in 2022; it's scheduled to open in late spring 2024. ZRS will handle leasing services
