Z Modular, a subsidiary of Chicago steel manufacturer Zekelman Industries, is nearing completion of Flatz 512, a $62 million multifamily project one of the largest cities in the Austin metro area.
Flatz 512 will have studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, pickleball court, coffee bar, spa, sports simulator lounge, outdoor grilling stations, and walking trails.
Construction on the complex at 834 Cottonwood Parkway in San Marcos, about 35 miles southwest of Austin, began in 2020. South Carolina-based Greystar manages the property.
Z Modular specializes in prefabricated steel structures used in commercial construction. The company is developing similar projects throughout the U.S. and Canada, including the Austin area. Its Texas multifamily developments include Cheatham Street Flats in San Marcos, Flatz 830 in Marble Falls, and Flatz 487 in Jarrell.
