Construction crews this month installed the first concrete panels to form new walls on a project to expand the Round Rock Sports Center, reaching a milestone on the new facility.
A $274 million bond package voters approved in 2023 is funding the project.
Expansion of the 82,800-square-foot facility at 2400 Chisholm Trail includes a second entrance designed to improve to enable the facility to host larger and more diverse events, the addition of two basketball courts, championship court seating, and more parking.
Construction started in July and is expected to wrap up by early 2026.
