More residential development is headed for Kyle, the booming suburb about 25 miles southwest of downtown Austin.
Dallas-based builder Landsea Homes broke ground Thursday on Parkton Square, a residential development that will include a mix of single-family homes and detached condos.
The single-family homes will range from 1,400 to 2,900 square feet and have three to five bedrooms. Options will include first-floor primary bedrooms, dramatic vaulted ceilings, gourmet kitchens, and luxury showers.
The attached condos will range have three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms from 1,492 to 1,590 square feet
Located on the booming I-35 corridor between Austin and San Marcos, Kyle is one of the top three fastest-growing affordable suburbs in the country, with a 23.7 percent growth rate since 2020, according to a MoveBuddha report. Hays County is also one of the fastest growing counties in the country, according to U.S. Census data.
"Kyle provides a convenient housing alternative to living in Austin, as well as a great quality of life, ample parks and open space, and good school system with higher education opportunities," said Landsea's Vince Ruffino.
Landsea didn't include the total acreage of the development or any pricing in its announcement, although it did say it expected to start selling homes this fall.
