iMarket America, a supplier of industrial raw materials and products based in South Korea, will relocate its U.S. headquarters to Round Rock, a fast-growing suburban city 20 miles north of Austin. The company is proposing a 212-acre industrial campus for the new headquarters, according to a Round Rock Chamber press release.
iMarket America is a major vendor for Korean electronics giant Samsung, which is developing a $17 billion semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor, about 30 miles north of Austin.
iMarket America has also put forward a plan to develop a 212-acre campus the intersection of Carlos G. Parker Boulevard SE and FM 112 in Taylor, not far from the Samsung plant.
According to the Austin Business Journal, the development would feature about 2.2 million square feet of warehousing, manufacturing, offices, and research-and-development space.
The publication also reports that iMarket America purchased the land after signing a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with the city of Taylor in 2023, about a year after Samsung broke ground on its Taylor facility.
