Those who ascribe to the theory that more housing is good for everyone will be elated to learn that 15 new luxury homes are headed to Rough Hollow, a neighborhood in one of Austin's most expensive suburbs.

Hacienda Heights, a master-planned community, will be built at the highest elevation in the Rough Hollow neighborhood (1,100 feet above sea level) and therefore offers big views of the Texas Hill Country, Lake Travis, and Lakeway. Its 15  custom-designed homes will average at least 3,500 square feet and will be built by longstanding Rough Hollow builders Arbogast Custom Homes, Laurel Haven Homes, and Sterling Custom Homes. The average home and land cost is expected to start at $3 million.

Residential development manager Legend Communities, headquartered in Austin, unveiled plans for Hacienda Heights in conjunction with the launch of Rough Hollow Realty, an exclusive in-house sales company for the master-planned Lakeway community.

Rough Hollow's amenities include the Rough Hollow Yacht Club and Marina, an all-season event pavilion with a demonstration kitchen, and Highland Village, a water-themed community center with a lazy river, splash pads, a children’s pool, an adult pool with a swim-up bar, a village green, and an open-air marketplace.
