Industrial development continues to boom in the suburbs north of Austin. Locals Freehill Development announced Thursday that it's broken ground on a big project in Leander, 30 miles north of the capital city.

The Hero Way West development is on a 16.-acre site and will measure an estimated 227,200 square feet. It will have three shallow-bay buildings that will range in size from 24,500 to 129,000 square feet. The buildings will have 28-foot clear heights.

Prior to the groundbreaking of Hero Way West, an industrial development in Leander, an undisclosed tenant signed a 24,500-square-foot lease to occupy half of Building 1.

JLL arranged construction financing and joint venture equity for the project, and Transwestern is the leasing agent. Construction is expected to start in the summer and last about a year.
