The city of Kyle is seeking a developer or hotelier to design, build, and operate a hotel and convention facility. The project is located between Kyle Parkway and Kohlers Crossing in the booming suburb 22 miles south of Austin.

The project is part of a larger development, still in the planning stages, that includes a St. David’s Hospital,  retail and restaurant space, and a waterfront park,

Kyle is prepared to offer the city-owned site through a long-term lease for a nominal fee or transfer it as part of an economic partnership, according to a news release.

The city is soliciting requests for proposals for the project, and top candidates invited to the second round in the selection process will need a more detailed proposal, the news release states.

The development is meant to reflects the city’s “natural beauty, dynamic growth and forward-thinking spirit,” Kyle director of economic development Victoria Vargas said.

“The Lake Park District Hotel and Convention Center will not only provide an exceptional venue for business and leisure travelers but will also bolster Kyle’s economic development efforts and bring new opportunities to the community,” Vargas said.
