A 276-unit build-to-rent development is underway in Hutto, the fast-growing suburb 30 miles north of Austin.

Developers the Empire Group, based in Arizona, and Austin multifamily construction company Legacy MCS have finished pre-construction on the Village at Hutto Station on 30.6-acre tract of land on County Road 138.

The planned development will have a mix of single-family and multifamily homes. Amenities will include a community center, a dog park, a pool, and fire-pit areas.

Rent will start around $1,600 for one-bedroom units, $2,000 for two-bedroom units, and $2,200 for three-bedroom units.

Legacy MCS is building a number of high-profile projects around Austin, including the Station at St. Elmo in South Austin and Gravity ATX in East Austin. Its completed multifamily developments include 505 Tillery, Urbana at Goodnight Ranch, and Urbana at Plum Creek.
