A 348-acre mixed-use neighborhood underway in Bastrop is almost ready for its first residents. The first move-ins for the Adelton planned community, which will eventually have 1,200 residential units, are slated to begin this summer.
Located off State Highway 21 and Farm-to-Market 20, Adelton is being developed West Bastrop Village, an entity backed by Benchmark Land Development. The community will be constructed in phases and will ultimately have 1,200 residential units, 125,000 square feet of commercial space, four miles of trails ,and 50 acres of parks, greenbelts and other communal outdoor spaces. It will also have a pool, a beer-garden-style outdoor pavilion, a playground, and a sports court, according to a May 8 press announcement.
Single-family homebuilders David Weekley Homes and Empire Communities are building 90 of the neighborhood's two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, which range from 1,400 to 2,800 square feet and have prices starting around $300,000.
Developers expect completion of the first phase of the development to be complete 2027, while building out the full community could take 10-15 years.
