The Austin Planning Commission has given its blessing to a proposed 64,000-square-foot music venue proposed for the River Park redevelopment in Southeast Austin. The commission recommended approval of the entertainment venue and lounge at 4800 East Riverside Drive at its Tuesday meeting.

River Park developer Presidium proposed the venue earlier this year. Representatives have said the facility will  have local and national performances, community programs, and special events and that Presidium has deal with a third party to develop and operate the venue.

The venue will anchor the first phase of River Park, a highly publicized mixed-use project that Swiss private markets firm Partners Group is developing with Austin's Presidium. It will be part of River Park's first phase, which will also include multifamily housing, a hotel, street-front retail and a park
