The Austin Parks and Recreation Department marked a milestone in its Bull Creek District Park Improvement project recently and will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting Saturday.

The park Concept Plan, which was approved in 2017, was used as a guide for design development and permitting. Improvements focused on facility repair and ADA access for the site’s restrooms have been completed, marking the conclusion of all the improvements originally identified in the 2017 Concept Plan, according to a city press release.

Other parts of the plan included improved ADA access to picnic pads, which involved both the addition and removal of concrete, installation of a creek-access loop trail and fencing, installation of a wildflower meadow, and various maintenance-level upgrades, including to parking lots.

The park at 6701 Lakewood Drive in northwest Austin is the anchor for the Bull Creek Greenbelt, one of Austin’s celebrated natural areas.
