A Los Angeles advertising company opened its new Texas headquarters in East Austin’s historic Rosewood neighborhood Tuesday. Sensis, "the nation's largest minority-owned marketing agency,” according to its press release, will operate out of a brightly renovated building at 2929 East 12th Street. The company hopes to "drive cross-cultural marketing campaigns that speak to Austin's diverse communities” from its new digs.
The Austin Chamber and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce joined Sensis on Oct. 29 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house party with a Dia de los Muertos theme and local music.
The 2,200-square-foot space, designed to support hybrid work and collaboration, has an open layout with shared workspaces, a conference room, private call areas, and a quiet “focus" room. Sensis Senior Art Director Bayo Flores created a Texas-themed mural for the building, incorporating locally resonant symbols sucha bats, armadillos, and the Lone Star.
“With Texas’ remarkable population and business growth, driven by the influx of major corporations, Sensis is uniquely positioned to help clients connect authentically with Texas’ diverse communities,” Sensis' José Villa said. “Our new Austin office is a hub for delivering meaningful, culturally relevant campaigns that reflect the changing face of Texas.”
Since 2015, Sensis has served a number of local and Texas clients, including the University of Texas System, CapMetro, Texas Water Development Board, the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, and Coca-Cola Southwest Bottlers.
