The city of Pflugerville Tuesday approved three construction contracts work on for its Colorado River pump station and waterline. The move is “a great milestone” for the project, the city’s Jeff Dunsworth.
Under the terms of one contract, Thalle Construction Company will expand the raw water pump station at the lower Colorado River to help maintain water quality and levels at Lake Pflugerville. Thalle will upgrade the station's three pumps and add a fourth one.
The city approved separate contracts for construction of different parts of the Colorado River waterline that spans from Austin to Lake Pflugerville.
SJ Louis Construction will build the 10-mile portion of the waterline in Austin, and BELT Construction will build the 5-mile section within the city of Pflugerville.
The total cost of all three projects is about $104 million.
Thalle will start construction on the pump station this month and is slated to finish the project in February 2026. SJ Louis and Belt expect to start waterline are construction in November and wrap up in May 2026.
