The mighty force that is the Samsung factory under construction outside Taylor, 30 miles north of Austin, has drawn in another major development.

South Korean company Soulbrain, which materials for semiconductors, will  $175 million in a new plant in the Austin suburb, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

Construction on the planned 60,000-square-foot plant, which will produce phosphoric acid, is planned to start January 1, 2025. The plant will be developed specifically to serve Samsung's new $17 billion semiconductor facility rising near. Electronic grade phosphoric acid is used as an etching agent in semiconductor manufacturing, the Statesman reported.

The first phase of the Soulbrain plant will be built at the RCR Taylor Rail Logistics Park at 201 FM 3349. The company is also considering a $400 million in a second construction phase.
