Construction on a new multifamily complex is underway at an award-winning eco-conscious development in Manor, about 15 miles east of Austin.
Houston's Allied Orion Group Living and Boston-based Taurus Investment Holdings, in collaboration with interior designer the Sage Group, are developing the 348-unit Evergreen at Whisper Valley complex at 6601 East Braker Lane.
The development will have one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with smart-living technology features. Community amenities include a clubhouse, a fitness center, a pool, EV charging stations, a business center, and a bicycle workshop. Developers are aiming to meet National Green Building Standards’ Bronze criteria as well as an Austin Green Building two-star rating.
The 2,067-acre Whisper Valley, which got Austin’ Master-Planned Community of the Year and Project of the Year awards in 2021 as part of the Austin Green Awards, is the largest sustainable master-planned development in the nation that uses geothermal infrastructure and photovoltaic panels, according to Allied Orion. The planned community is set to include retail and office space, dining areas, schools and a fire station. The Evergreen is the planned development's first multifamily project.
